Improve Muscle and Fitness at Home

Thoughts on how ones muscle and fitness becomes necessary to lead a good life and why it is a luxury.

It is only natural to want to take care of one’s body. Hundreds of years ago, the most attractive trait on a person was being well fed. Today, it is being in shape. Hundreds of years ago, there was no choice but to be in shape: life was harder, harsher and everyone worked. Those who did not were part of the aristocracy or high government. Of course, starving had a lot to do with being in shape back then, even if it is extremely unhealthy. Muscle and fitness in the 1800’s were not a lifestyle choice but a way of life.

In the 21st century, being fit is a lifestyle choice just as much as being lazy is. One could go for a walk or choose to sit on the couch and watch television. One could eat an apple or a bag of potato chips. Laziness has become a luxury and a privilege in our world, one that many, many people cannot afford. Taking care of one’s muscle and fitness regime is one way to show that you care about the world and the struggles therein. Taking care of oneself is a way to show those people dying of starvation that you will live on and respect their death with your continued life.

As little as fifteen minutes every day could lead ones muscles and fitness to top health within six-months, body type, eating habits and general health notwithstanding. With the right set up and routine at home, one would never have to leave. Some free-weights, a treadmill or stationary bike for cardio and a solid wall for stretching is all one would need, and sometimes, not even that. Maintaining ones muscles and fitness could merely be walking for twenty minutes per day or doing thirty sit ups and thirty push-ups. It is a luxury to be lazy and bored, but it is a right to keep oneself in shape and healthy, especially when it is easily done. Purchasing the equipment or subscribing to the magazines or health club is an investment against future health problems that come from aging. Proper exercise is an affirmation of life and living, while being lazy is only an affirmation of nothing. Smoking cigarettes may be an addiction, but being lazy is a choice.

Many people do not have a choice about their body. Often, people are born with genes that make it harder to lose weight or gain muscle. This does not automatically mean that by looks and body type alone, one is healthy or unhealthy. Muscle and fitness go hand in hand, but are primarily seen in the inner workings of one’s body.

For one to work out at home, one no longer needs a lot of equipment. Online exercise clubs are available with options that include no equipment. Even if equipment is available, one may still exercise with a trainer without the high hourly cost. One will still get the necessary cardio, muscle and fitness in the comfort of home, without spending too much money.
