It often seems like we lose weight much more quickly and easily in some areas of our body compared to others. For example, sometimes you may need a smaller top while still having issues getting into your jeans. You’re not imagining things. Some areas do lose and/or gain weight more easily. It’s very frustrating and unfortunately, it’s almost entirely genetic. Some people gain weight more quickly in their mid-section, others in their thighs or buttocks. Wherever you tend to gain weight the fastest is also the area that sheds pounds fastest.
Another reason women tend to have this issue is because the female body has certain crucial areas for child bearing and these areas tend to be more stubborn when you start a weight loss routine. Your hips, butt, and thighs may store a lot more fat than other areas of your body due to this.
So next time you get frustrated at the speed of weight loss on certain areas of your body, remember that it takes time, and often more attention to diet needs to be made in addition to regular exercise if you’re specifically looking to lose belly fat. If you solely focus on cutting back calories, or pay no attention to your diet & only exercise, you won’t be reaching your maximum potential in terms of fitness. Working out increases your metabolism, which helps to get rid of the extra fat that makes its way to your mid-section. Eating clean gives your body the right nutrients to remain healthy and lean.
Be mindful when it comes to your diet and make sure to work up a sweat a few times a week. It’s simple and effective!
