Walk to Work Week

This week is walk to work week! Try rallying your colleagues together to participate. Walk together in a team, if possible, or just encourage each other. Walking to work will not only burn calories, but it will also sharpen your mind and relieve stress, which is a great way to start your day. You’ll also save money on gas or bus/train fare, which is a nice bonus. Even though this week is designated as “walk to work week”, it doesn’t mean you have to stop when it’s over! Try to walk as many times a week as you can. It’s one of the easiest ways to increase fitness and improve health. It can also be very enjoyable during this time of year when the weather is nice and depending on the area you live in, the scenery can lift your spirits just as much as the adrenaline!

If you live too far from work and walking isn’t an option, try parking further away or getting off a stop earlier, and taking the stairs instead of the elevator. These are also great options that will help improve your overall fitness/health.
