Is It Really Necessary to Wear a Bra?

According to a recent French study, bras are pretty much useless. These accessories actually increase sagging and fail to relieve back pain. In the long run, they may be harmful to breasts and affect the body. Bras do have an aesthetic role, but this doesn’t mean they’re good for your health.

Bras – A False Necessity
A 15-year study conducted on more than 300 women indicates that bras are a false necessity. Those who went braless developed more muscle tissue and experienced less sagging. Additionally, their nipples lifted up to seven millimeters within 12 months in relation to their shoulders. However, researchers say that women who have worn bras for decades can keep using them. Throwing up your bra in your 40s won’t make any difference.

These accessories prevent breast tissue from growing and weaken its structure. Sleeping in a bra makes things worse. According to researchers, young women who go braless may experience increased elasticity and collagen production. This allows breast tissue to become stronger and defeat gravity. Basically, your boobs have natural support.

Should You Stop Wearing a Bra?
Women wear bras for different reasons. Some use these accessories to keep things in place when running or moving around. Others wear a bra to make their breasts look fuller. There are also women who use a bra simply because it gives them confidence.

This basic item has been around for centuries. Contrary to popular belief, bras don’t increase the risk of cancer nor trap toxins. Some models make breasts feel more comfortable and reduce excessive movement.

So far, no one has died from wearing a bra. However, the benefits of using one are negligible. The choice is up to you. If using a bra increases your self-confidence, go for it. But remember that this habit may harm your breasts in the long run.
