Nitro Cold Brew has skyrocketed in popularity due to its velvety texture and naturally sweet flavor. The drink has been around since 2011 but it only recent caught on due to the rise in caffeine lovers zeal for anything that will give them energy without the need to pack in unnecessary sugar.

Nitro Cold Brew has been enjoyed on its own, but now a coffee distributor, Joyride, has managed to add a bit of wellness to this popular trend by combining it with matcha tea!

Packed with antioxidants, matcha tea is a prominent drink in the wellness world. CEO of Joyride David Belanich states that the tea is, “matcha and sencha brewed together, combining the savory umami flavors and natural vegetal sweetness green tea drinkers love.” The brew is blended with nitrogen, and pressurized which gives it that signature frothy, creamy texture that nitro brew drinkers love.

The concept for this cold brew-matcha tea first came about in 2014, however Belanich states, “it took us years to develop a nitro matcha that worked on draft and that we could be proud of.”

As exciting as this new concept is, it’s so unique that it isn’t immediately available in coffee shop cafes everywhere. Joyride is currently selling their brew in kegs at The Kitchen Cafe in Boston, Foragers Market in New York City, Frost Me Gourmet in Southern California, and Plumed Horse Chocolaterie in Northern California. If you’re dying to get your hands on this innovative cold brew fusion, no worries! Belanich states, “Now that we have something we are really happy with, we definitely anticipate it becoming more prevalent in the markets we serve,”
