Diet Trends and Healthy Living

From Paleo to Gluten Free eating, there is a diet trend out there that will appeal to just about anyone. The latest trend or article about what you should or should not be consuming raises a lot of anxiety and often causes people to do more harm than good to their overall well-being. Many people are just looking for the quick fix diet that will help them look as thin as possible, but there are also many out there who are genuinely in fear of developing health problems based on what they are eating. While healthy living is very important, there’s a difference between constantly stressing yourself out and over thinking your meal decisions, and simply practicing a healthy, balanced diet and lifestyle.

Stress is one of the biggest health killers. No matter what you’re eating and/or how much you’re exercising, if your stress levels are on overdrive, you are causing damage to your body and mind. There is so much misinformation and conflicting information out there. It’s no wonder that people are confused and worried about their diets all the time. It’s important to keep in mind that a lot of these health food trends are big money-makers and do not always have peoples best interest in mind. The most tried and true method of a healthy diet is to stick to whole foods, eat raw as much as possible, stay away from processed food and fried food, get a good balance of vitamins, nutrients, and proteins, and cut down on foods that are high in sugar and fat. You should not have to deprive yourself or feel like you’re in a strict prison. A little treat is ok sometimes! That one snack or unhealthy meal isn’t going to ruin consistent hard work and mindful eating. An overall balanced diet combined with physical activity is what will keep you feeling great and maintaining healthy weight. There is also always a healthier version of your favorite comfort food out there. Explore, experiment, and enjoy!
