Efficiency is key. Find the most effective workout – not just in terms of working your body, but also fitting into your schedule. Yoga class after work may be relaxing, but it shouldn’t be your only form of exercise. Try HIIT workouts to burn more calories in less time, and continue burning them long after you’re done! If HIIT is too harsh on your joints or you’re more of a beginner, a 30-60 minute cardio session of any kind will do the trick.

Avoid falling off track by falling in love. The quickest way to stall your progress is to do a routine you don’t enjoy. Find the type of exercise that gets you the most excited and stick to it! There are so many options to choose from – sports, outdoor activities, exercise classes, online options – find what works for you!

Streamline. Make working out as easy as possible for yourself. Prepare anything you need for your exercising the night before and keep it in an easy to reach place. Prepping small healthy snacks is also a great way to make sure you’re fueled up and ready to go.

Buddy up. Finding a friend to join you in your fitness routine will increase motivation and accountability. Join a class together, plan weekly hikes and/or bike rides, the options are there – find one that you can both enjoy!

Lock it in. Not having a set schedule when it comes to your fitness routine can make it easy for you to fall off track. If you put certain activities and goals in place, you’re much more likely to stick to them.
